Hero in Perris, California

Our son in law Chad, saved a man's life today.

Chad was recently promoted to Sergeant of the Riverside county sheriffs department and was off duty today when he went grocery shopping at a store called WinCo Foods, in Perris, California.

While waiting in the check out line behind a 40 year old man, Chad saw the man fall completely backwards and smash his head on the floor.

He immediately ran over to the man and saw his head gushing with blood, as he was apparently having a  seizure .

Chad then asked the store manager to bring some paper towels and gloves as he applied pressure on the wound to control the bleeding. He then put the gloves on and cleared the blood from the man's air ways so he could breathe.

He stayed with the gentleman, applying pressure to the wound until the paramedics arrived, all the while reassuring the man that he would be OK and that help was on the way. The ambulance arrived, took the man to the hospital and relived Chad so he could finish his shopping and get home to his family.

The manager at WinCo was so impressed at how well Chad took control of the situation, saving the man's life, while remaining calm and professional, that she thanked him from the bottom of her heart.

Chad told her he was an off duty sheriff and was professionally trained to handle emergency situations such as this.

Our son in law has done many awesome things for his community that are too numerous to mention, but after hearing about this event  we wanted to share it with you.

  Thank you Chad

Keep up the good work
